What a pleasure it was to spend two days in Geneva with the UN High Commission for Human Rights examining how theatre can be used as a tool for Human Rights and Systemic Change. By combining powerful theatre methods — forum theatre and legislative theatre — with behavioral science, participants explored creative and practical approaches to address human rights challenges, rethink decision-making, & foster systemic change.
Thank you to Jennifer Worrell, Jessica Summers, Line Konstad and Talia Khan Khattak for their incredible work in organizing this workshop. And, of course, to all the wonderful UN staff from around the world who were such excellent participants! I look forward working with the UNHCHR to build on these insights and further exploring theatre’s potential in advancing human rights in 2025.
